Daydreaming, something in which I am just perfect and  millions of other people too. Almost everyone in the world has an experience of daydreaming.

What is daydreaming??

Daydreaming is detachment from one's surrounding for a short period of time. In day dream we escape from the surrounding mentally and enter a land of virtuality where we can fulfil all our freaky fetishes. Daydream takes us to the land of fantasy which is filled with happiness, positive thoughts and is ambitious.

It's fun... Isn't it??

Daydreaming is super fun. All those who have experienced it would definitely agree. There are innumerable experiences when one daydreams from childhood to adulthood.
It's fun not only because it gives you a taste of ecstasy but also because it helps one to escape from the boring schedule of life. During, daydream we get a ticket to achieve what we wish in reality. It is fun because we are the god of that world, the ultimate "creator" and have complete power to do what we want. An innumerable time a person dreams. Let's revive our experience of daydream and take a tour from childhood to adulthood.

Do you remember?? All your daydreaming situations??

While studying...

Do you remember, how you fooled your mother when you were daydreaming with your books opened and she was proud of you that you studied so long?? Wasn't that treat of sincerity, the most memorable experience of your life??
And that scolding too which you got when one day she finally found out that you were daydreaming through all this time.

During a lecture...

That moment of daydreaming, when you were interrupted by a question from your teacher who already knew that you were in another world(present physically but absent mentally). And your friend saved you.

During an important meeting...

Those clueless moments when your mind walked out from a meeting which declared a new working plan and your colleagues were discussing over it and you were completely dumbfounded for what had happened.

It's a sign of creativity.

Daydreaming is not harmful rather it is considered a sign of creativity. It is found that daydreamers show a high rate of enthusiasm and creativity in their work. Daydreamers are more responsible towards their work as they work towards getting what they dream.
It is found that most of the scientist and inventors were fond of daydreaming. Also, daydreamers are successful writers, painters, dancer, etc.

An amazing instance: A successful author of a bestselling novel was fired from her job as a secretary due to day dreaming, and it was prior to the time when the world acknowledged her as an author. Any guesses?
It is none other than J.K. Rowling, and she was fired from her job before she gave wings to the amazing wizardly world of Harry Potter.

So, next time if you daydream, you need not hide it, accept it proudly. It might be a step towards your success. Just work sincerely to turn your daydream into a reality.

What is Augmented Reality?

The dictionary meaning of "Augment" is to increase the size or value of things by adding something to it. Augmented Reality turns our surroundings into a digital interface by placing virtual entities in the actual world, in real-time. It provides an indirect view of the physical world enhanced by computer generated images, sounds, videos and graphics. You can simply explain AR as digitally overlaying extra information in our perceived vision.

Is Augmented Reality different from Virtual Reality?

Now, many of you might be confusing Augmented Reality with Virtual Reality. While the central idea behind both technologies is same, there is notable difference between AR and VR.
Virtual Reality is used to create a simulated virtual environment. The user is only able to perceive those sensory adaptions which are digitally generated and delivered by their VR interface. The user thus becomes a part of the virtual world and is not able to observe any changes in the real world.
Augmented Reality on the other hand, does not remove the user from the realm of reality. Rather, it enhances the user's view of the real world by adding digital elements to the user's sensory stimuli. AR provides more freedom to the users in the sense that it does not deprive them of the current world.

Applications of Augmented Reality

Recent researches and breakthrough advancements in AR technology has made it a very desirable product. The best feature of AR is that it does not need a heavy and confining headset to implement. It can be implemented on all kinds of digital display devices which allow graphic inputs, like your mobile phones or tablets. The very recent rave game "Pokemon Go" brought AR technology to our fingertips as users caught pokemon in their backyards.

The latest and the best application was showcased by Microsoft's HoloLens. Launched in 2016, the HoloLens broke the borders of digital interactivity. It is a self-contained holographic computer that can map and process the physical spaces and things in the surrounding environment within fraction of seconds, creating a semi digital world around the user using interactive holograms. It even contains speakers that provide spatially synthesized sounds to give a more realistic experience.
The HoloLens is available for developers and researchers to further utilize and advance this incredible technology. Microsoft has even provided a SDK for developers to build applications for the HoloLens. It has also found commercial use in the fields of automobile designing, product designing, architecture, archaeology, and even space research.

Power Of Happiness

05:16 1

During one of my lecture in the college the professor asked us, why are we all here?
And all of us replied: "for money".
This left us wondering that all this hard work is just to get money, a materialistic object that does not have existence if we stop valuing it.
If we think at root level, we actually need money to fulfil our desires, then why not say that we work, we study and go through so much pain to get what we desire and not for money. Once we start working for the fulfilment of desire and treat money only as a way to get there, this would reduce the greed in human.

Desire, this leads me to think why we desire?
What we actually get if it gets fulfilled? And the answer is simple, we get satisfaction and happiness.
So are we actually tolerating so much pain just to get happiness?
 Are we really so dumb?
We are losing happy moments to get happiness in future? Will that future ever come when we would enjoy the happiness? Haven't we been working since the past years to get happiness today?? And now we are ignoring that happiness to get it in the future.
At the end of the lecture, I was having the perfect answer, we all (humans) are here to ensure the continuation of the happiness in future that we have today.

It's high time to teach the society that why are we all here? We are here to celebrate what we have today and work to get new chances to celebrate in the future.
But the sad part is, the society is not ready to accept this thought because they are unaware of the "Power of happiness". Happiness is so powerful that it can unite the world. Brothers with same bloodline and lineage are fighting for money. If they realise that it is happiness that really matters, no family would be divided because of money. The happiness multiplies if the family is together.
True friends get apart because of jealousy. If they understand that they would be happier if they help each other to reach their goals, nothing can bring happiness more than what can be achieved by togetherness.

Once the human accepts that they only desire for happiness there would be no boundaries, no wars, no bloodshed and no partitioning. A large number of problems of the society can be solved if all learn to be happy and start caring for others happiness too. God has gifted us the feeling of happiness free of cost just like air, water, land. This proves that even god thinks that it's a quintessential of life.
It's something which multiplies if shared. Then why not feel it's power and help others to experience it? Why not consider the act of spreading happiness in others life, a success.

Happiness is so powerful that it can change the OUTLOOK of the world and will cost nothing.

The story behind "Cheers"

01:57 2

The ubiquitous custom of raising a toast or saying "cheers" seems to be as old as the history itself. Few days back i was having a heartfelt conversation with one of my good friend, and it popped in my head to write about the story behind "Cheers". The best thing is that it is way more interesting than it may sound.

Many old tales suggest that the clinking of glasses or saying cheers after pouring your drink is a customary tradition to prevent oneself from a conspired death. If someone adds poison in the drink, so on raising a toast, the drink may spill out from one glass to another and hence the person who conspired against you may himself consume the poison and eventually die. So conspirators may restrain themselves from doing this sin.
Sounds legit, isn't it?
But sadly there are no evidences to support this story, so in the absence of light, we leave this story as a myth.

So i kept my research on, and found that the real origin of this tradition of "cheers" is the Ancient Greek. They have a ritual of offering libation to the Greek Gods. From this point of time, we drink to each other's health. To back this conjecture, you can read the book "The Odyssey" where Ulysses drinks to the health of Achilles. Even once the Roman Senate passed a decree stating that every citizen must drink to Emperor Augustus at every meal.

But there is more to it. You would be surprised to know what's more intriguing: the term "toast" itself. The origin of this term dates back to the early sixteenth century. This was the time when toasts(bread) were literally soaked in the drinks before consumption. It was believed that drinks were adulterated and dipping a piece of toast into it will soak up all the acidity and improve the flavour of the drink. While this will have a second benefit too, it will make the bread palatable. The very first account of this story can be found in the Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" where the character of Falstaff demands- "Go fetch me a quart of sack; put a toast in't."

What i am going to tell you next may sound silly. In the 17th and 18th century "toasting" became an etiquette and "toastmasters" came into existence. They are kind of a third party referee who ensure that it didn't become too excessive and everyone got their fair share of toasting. I may sound funny, but it was a much desperately needed role then.

And slowly we landed on many drinking games and practices. The most bizarre ones being the one where a man would stab his arm, add his blood in the drink, and gulp it down to prove his love and devotion to his lady. While there is another story which involves toasting to a lady's beauty by drinking from her shoe. Seriously that's gross.

None of these practices are entertained today, what a relief, isn't it?
Today toasting or saying "cheers" has become more of a civilised, restrained and intellectual pursuit.

So next time when you drink among your friends or family, don't forget to "cheers" to their well being and share this story over a glass of wine.
